Who Am I?

My medical experience and passion for the wellbeing industry dates back to my nursing career which began in Intensive Care then as a Theatre Sister working in plastic surgery and Gynaecology. From here, I then moved into the private nursing sector working for several companies providing nursing services to the healthcare industry.

During this time, I became a latex allergy specialist, I completed an Endoscopy course and travelled extensively both in the UK and abroad presenting to medical professionals on sterilisation of equipment and infection control issues. After 15 years I focussed on setting up my own business, so having an interest in equipment I first learnt about lasers. However, my real passion was in skincare management and treatments, so after extensive training in 2006 I created Deep Blue Skin Technology.

The business has grown year on year, and to maintain my professional development I undertook training with the best. Since 2006, I have accrued over 80 certificates in aesthetic practice, studying at diploma and degree level. In 2007 I was awarded a bursary from the RCN - one of only 5 awarded in the UK - based on my patient care. I am now also a qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber, with a mentorship qualification.  After selling the business in 2021 I continue to commit to the high standard of care I have practiced throughout my career and continue to trade under my name as a private practitioner.

The name Deep Blue Skin Technology was chosen to represent my absolute commitment and resolve to providing a clear transparent fresh approach to treating patients with so called cosmetic skin issues.

The clinic opened in 2006 with just one laser and a few pieces of specialist equipment. By providing professional skin care it was still very important to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). I still consider this to be the best course available within the industry.

My philosophy is to provide a service of assessment and diagnosis first before any treatment is undertaken. Getting to the root cause rather than just offering treatments leads to better more consistent results. As my patient, I have a duty of care to look after you and this will always be my main priority. My free detailed consultation process and wide range of treatments to suit any skin condition is what sets me apart from other practitioners.

Many of my patients are self-referred or recommended by someone who has already visited.

Outside of the clinic

My other interest is supporting two registered charities. I sponsored a child’s education for 10 years through World Vision, Jasmi Akter who lives in Bangladesh. I now sponsor a little girl called Patience Ineza Umukunzi from Rwanda, she is 6 years old and I sponsor her through Compassion. I also fundraise for the charity Mercy Ships. It involves medical volunteers who travel to Africa amongst other nations providing much needed surgery. I have raised funds and provided dressing packs and drapes for theatre use on a regular basis since first hearing about the work they do.
